Apron for my grandson

This easy childs apron was designed by Ada.  It worked up very quickly with Lily 100% cotton.  Her pattern called for a pocket but my grandson wanted a green chef’s hat on it instead.  I did my best on creating that, but looks more like a veggie to me.

I just got tagged

My friend just decided we’re still young enough to play games.  At least this game of tag doesn’t include running.

THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Ok, 6 weird things about me:

1:  In the winter time I love to put a big spoonful of peppermint stick icecream in my hot chocolate, topped off with some Rediwhip whipped cream,  yummy.

2:  My idea of a good day out would either be yarn shopping with my dear hubby, or going for lunch with my parents, and then to an auction that runs til midnight.

3:  I love wearing my warm fuzzy slippers away in the winter time, why bother putting cold shoes on my feet.

4:  I have one really bad pet peeve, and that is the fact that my motherinaw will not put the silverware in the proper slot in the drawer.  Have had this pet peeve as long as I can remember.

5:  I collect antique clothes and have several mourning dresses which I love.  I would love to find a mourning broach, which is a locket that has a piece of the deceased one’s hair in it.

6:  When I die, I want cremated, and I want my family and friends to have a big celebration and listen to all the songs I liked, and remember the great moments of my life rather than cry.

Now I am tagging the following, hope they enjoy it.

Shoulder-Wrap Sweater

I just finished this sweater this evening, been working on it for the last 2 days.  I really like how it turned out.  I did have to add an inch in arm length and an inch in the body of the sweater as I am tall.

Testing Finished

I just wanted to give a heads up on a beautiful pattern I tested for Kathryn White at www.crochetnbeads.com.  I can’t post a picture of it yet as she is waiting to see if it gets published, which I’m sure it will.  Hopefully by June or July of this year we’ll be able to see her beautiful patterns for doilies and runners in print.  Keep an eye out ladies, this will be a publication you don’t want to miss.

New Piece for my Craft Room

My dear hubby purchased this 1896 Singer Sewing Machine for me at auction last Friday Eve.  It came with original bobbins, attachment box, and manual.  Am going to evenutually change where its setting.

Project I’ve just started

This is one of several projects I have going on.  This is a square for a bedspread I’m making.  Will work on this off and on while working on my other projects.  Tell me what you think.   I chose to use Redheart in the color Aran.  Here is the link for the pattern I’m using.  http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/RSBS10_5.html

2 Quick Projects

I made these 2 scarfs for my daughter as per her request.  No pattern for them just whipped them up.  Took less than an hour for each one, so they were very quick.

First project of 2007: Romatic Jacket

This pattern is from Crochet magazine.  It actually is a lot nicer on me then it is on the dressmaker form.  I’m really pleased with the way it turned out.
